ET was there as Taylor Swift and more mega-stars of music stepped out in the Big Apple on Thursday evening for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and we dished with the legendary Billy Joel and teen pop sensation Charice about the big night!
“I’m inducting my producer Phil Ramone,” “Piano Man” Billy told ET. “If anybody deserves it he does, because he’s a songwriter’s producer.”
Eighteen-year-old singer Charice, who’s already being compared to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, told us she was on hand to support inductee David Foster. “He’s one of the most important people who actually helped me from the very beginning,” she said, adding that she’s a big fan of Taylor and Miley Cyrus.
Watch the video to find out what Charice thought of Miley’s controversial music video for “Can’t Be Tamed”!
The evening’s special award recipients included Taylor, Paul Simon and Phil Collins, while Leonard Cohen, Jackie DeShannon, Johnny Mandel, and Earth, Wind & Fire‘s Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Larry Dunn and Al McKay were among the inductees.
