MOST POPULAR STORIES OF 2010
Another year in the books of shocking, saddening, hilarious and heartbreaking headlines here at PopEater HQ. We did some serious number-crunchin’ to calculate which headlines you, our faithful readers, clicked on most from January to December. Whether trivial, tragic or totally unexpected, all had one big thing in common — they were all extremely popular.
4. Miley’s Big Hit: Bong Video Goes Viral: A video obtained by TMZ shows the ‘Hannah Montana’ star taking hits from a bong that was reportedly filled with a natural herb called salvia, which when smoked has psychedelic qualities. Possession of salvia is currently legal in California. The video was reportedly taken five days after Miley turned 18. Cyrus turns to her friend during the video and asks, “Is it me tripping? Is it me tripping?”

HOTTEST MOVIE COUPLE OF 2010?
Miley’s role in her film The Last Song lead to a romance with co-star Liam Hemsworth, which sadly ended not too long ago. However, they’ve been nominated for Hottest Movie Couple of 2010! Make sure you vote here.
CELEBRITY OF 2010 FINALIST #3!
With 2010 drawing to a close, it is with much pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, Fourth Annual Celebrity of the Year award.
These stars all gave us their best, their worst, their nude pics (sometimes) and their scandals (often). This month, THG honors that greatness.
After the Jersey Shore cast fist-pumped its way to #4, we present one of our most polarizing figures at #3 … Miley Cyrus!
Perhaps more than any celebrity we cover, 2010 was a year of ups and downs for Miley, lows and highs (literally!).
It began with the official announcement that Cyrus would be saying farewell to the role of Hannah Montana, and it ended with a bong-smoking controversy that epitomized the lengths this star had gone to over the past 12 months to prove she was transforming into an adult artist.
Critics, meanwhile, crushed the star for her misguided decisions, coming down on her for abandoning a young fan base and trying too hard to prove she was evolving. Where do you stand?
It’s a question we’ve asked often and will likely continue to do so. This divisiveness is a significant reasons why Miley had such an impact on pop culture in 2010.

Miley Cyrus: Booty Shorts
Miley Cyrus is growing up right in front of our eyes. And so are her hemlines. But whereas I’ve read many articles blasting her for getting too sexy too soon, I think it’s fabulous that she’s getting saucy and still acting smart (no public breakdowns, no sex tapes). I do have a hesitation, however, how she’s flaunting it: Miley was largely responsible for the sales of booty shorts this year, creating her fair share of mini moments that were more country bumpkin than famous face. So next year, let’s switch it up a bit. Think sexy and classy, Miley.
2010 HAIR TRANSFORMATIONS
Celebuzz has featured Miley in their 2010 hair transformations, saying “Miley Cyrus took out her regular extensions over the summer, but put them back in just in time for the AMAs.”What do you think? Do you prefer Miley’s hair short or long? I think she looks gorgeous no matter what hair she has.

Miley Cyrus may have had a turbulent year but the teen idol hasn't lost her optimistic mood when it comes to looking forward to new things – and new beginnings for the new year.
After spending time singing karaoke with her family for Christmas, the "Can't Be Tamed" singer released a home-made video to her fans to reveal her hopes and plans for 2011.
"I'm really looking forward to 2011," said Miley while sitting at a kitchen table with her younger sister, Noah Cyrus. "I got some new ideas. I want to go on some cool trips, I want to travel. I want to make this the year that I go out and do what I'm here to do and that's to help people and make people happy."

Miley has run into her fair share of troubles this past year. Most recently, Miley saw her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish, file for divorce and she created an international stir when a video of her smoking salvia from a bong was leaked online.

HOW MILEY SPENT HER CHRISTMAS
Miley Cyrus was all about the music this Christmas.
The singer, 18, rang in the holidays with her family in Nashville, where she and little sister Noah, 10, sang a duet of her summer single "Can't Be Tamed" together.
"Miley and noah are currently singing "can't be tamed" on noah's new karaoke machine," big sister Brandi, 23, Tweeted. "It's pretty hilarious."
She added: "my Mom is videoing … maybe if you're lucky i'll snag it and upload."
Also in Tennessee for the holiday: Billy Ray Cyrus – who filed for divorce from Miley's mom, Tish, in October. A source tells PEOPLE that he spent some quality time with his children over the Christmas holidays at his 500-acre farm outside of Nashville.
In the spirit of the holidays, Cyrus also posted a Christmas message with her fans and shared her goals for 2011. "I want to make this the year that I go out and do what I'm here to do," she says, "and that's to help people and make people happy."
MILEY: "I WILL START BEING A BETTER ROLE MODEL."
She’s been receiving all kinds of criticism since her bong-smoking video hit the internet, and Miley Cyrus is ready to get back on the straight and narrow.
It seems the “Hannah Montana” starlet has promised her parents Billy Ray and Tish that she’ll be more level-headed from now on.
An inside source told press, “Even though Miley is of legal age and able to make her own decisions in most matters, she still remains very close to her parents.”
“She’s headstrong and likes to make her own decisions, but she truly loves her Mom and Dad. She knew right away that this video of her partying with ‘pals’ and puffing on a bong would send them over the edge.”
“After listening to their terrible fears that she’s heading down the wrong path and losing control, Miley made this solemn vow to her parents: She will straighten up and start acting like the role model to young fans that she should be!

MILEY'S NEW RACY PHOTOS ARE BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION
New so called "racy" photos of Miley Cyrus are nothing of the sort. If you haven't seen the photos look to your left to see one of them. I see nothing wrong with that picture do you? Why is the media and tabloids going after Miley Cyrus so hard?
I have seen worse photos on Facebook than these Miley Cyrus photos. Lady GaGa takes worse photos everyday. Why is this such a big deal? The answer is, it is not.
For the last three months Miley Cyrus has taken a beating over everything she has done. Most of it has been her fault but the stories that are written about her and the fuss about nothing is astounding.
She didn't do anything wrong when she hit the bong filled with a legal substance and she hasn't done anything wrong now with these pictures. She is simply being a teenager and doing what teenagers do.
Do you think there is anything wrong with this Miley picture? If you do let us know and if you don't tell us why by commenting below.
