Miley Cyrus' parents are getting divorced

And we thought the Cyrus family was rock solid...

Miley Cyrus is about to go through a difficult time that many teenagers have to deal with these days; her parents are getting divorced.

It's always tough when your mum and dad go their separate ways, and the arguments, conflict and complete change of lifestyle prove to really take its toll on many of our lives. So we're sad to hear the news that Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus are ending their 17-year marriage.

News broke yesterday, as it was heard 'irreconcilible differences' have caused the divorce. Miley's brother Braison and little sister Noah have both since been seen with their arms around their emotional mum, as Miley spent the evening with friends while Trace and Brandi went for a walk around L.A.

The family released a statement to People magazine, saying: "As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family. We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

Meanwhile, a source close to the clan said: "It was a long time coming. It is the best thing for both of them." If things weren't working out, maybe it is a good thing that the parents go their separate ways. Hopefully, despite the devastating blow this must be to Miley and her siblings, they pull through the situation together and deal with it amicably.
