The UK sweetheart’s double platinum album 21 has recorded its seventh consecutive week at number one, equalling Pink’s Greatest Hits…So Far as the longest-running number one record of 2011.
She has also ended LMFAO’s incredible 10-week run at the top of the singles chart, with her second single Someone Like You clambering over Party Rock Anthem to peak at number one.
With her hit single Rolling In The Deep staying steady at fourth position, Adele now has two of the top four singles spots.
Lady Gaga, whose highest ranked single The Edge of Glory sits back at 21, has fallen to fourth spot on the albums chart thanks to new releases from indie folk band Bon Iver and Eminem-led hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil.
Bon Iver’s self-titled sophomore release debuted at number two, followed closely by Hell: The Sequel from Bad Meets Evil at three.
Rounding out the top five is American rapper Pitbull, whose latest release Planet Pit has served him his first top 10 album in Australia.
Also debuting this week was The Grate’s third release Secret Rituals, which entered in at number 11.
Meanwhile Miley Cyrus, who is currently touring Australia, has re-emerged at number 30 on the charts with her year-old album Can’t be Tamed.
A recent visit Down Under has also proved beneficial for American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, securing her position at the top of the Australia country chart with the album Play On.
